On Friday morning, January 30, Dr. Scott Lasensky spoke about "Iraq's Neighbors, Israel's Neighbors, and the Changing Strategic Environment,"
with leading Israeli experts, as part of the Ambassador's Distinguished American Speaker program.  Dr. Lasensky spoke about his recent trip to the Middle East in early January, and consultations with senior figures in Syria, Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere.  Ambassador Samuel Lewis, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, and former President of the USIP, joined Dr. Lasensky at the podium, offering additional insights. Former U.S.
Ambassador to Israel William Brown also attended this program, and joined in the discussion. The audience included some fifty senior Israeli government officials, researchers from strategic think tanks, and retired ambassadors.  The presentations were followed by an off-the-record discussion.
