Distinguished American Speaker Professor Alan Dershowitz, Harvard University School of Law, May 21, 2010

Ambassador James Cunningham hosted Professor Alan Dershowitz at his residence for a discussion as part of the Embassy’s Distinguished American Speaker Series.  Professor Dershowitz's "star" status attracted an unprecedented audience of over 90 guests -- academics, students and NGO representatives.  Professor Dershowitz’s comments on “The Case for a Strong U.S.- Israel Relationship” were moderated by veteran Israeli journalist, Yaacov Achimeir.  Professor Dershowitz, arguably Israel's staunchest defender abroad, expounded on U.S.-Israel relations. He spoke about President Obama's Cairo intiative, the Iranian nuclear threat, and Israeli settlements.
