American Embassy Tel Aviv Essay Contest

The American Embassy in Tel Aviv invites submissions for an essay contest in recognition of the US Presidential and Congressional Elections 2008 on the subject: What Democracy Means to Me?

The contest is open to high school students between the ages 14 and 18.

All students who submit an essay will receive a letter of participation. The winners will be invited to meet the American Ambassador and will receive a certificate of achievement and an award at the US Presidential Elections event hosted by US Embassy in November.

The original, creative essay may address any of the following topics:

    • Democracy
    • American values
    • US Electoral Process
    • US political system
    • 60th Anniversary of US-Israel Diplomatic Relations

The essays should be in English, typed in Times New Roman, size 12, double space, 2.5 cm margins and should not exceed 3 pages.

The Deadline for submission is October 15. Each participant should include his/her full name, age, address, phone number and email, and send his/her essay to the following address:
